Welcome to Croton ("Service"). Croton is a DNS-based filtering service that lets you block unwanted content and manage internet access across your devices without installing any software. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Croton, including its website, DNS endpoints, and dashboard.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, or be accessing the Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You may register using an email address and password, or via Google OAuth. You agree to provide accurate and current information and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@getcroton.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Croton provides DNS-level filtering through the following features:
New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to the Service. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, your profiles will be disabled unless you subscribe to a paid plan.
Croton offers a single plan — the Family plan — at US$3.99 per month. The plan includes unlimited profiles, unlimited DNS queries, all filtering categories, screen time scheduling, query logs, and DoH & DoT endpoints.
On subscribing, you are billed immediately for the first month. Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled. Payments are processed through Dodopayments. By subscribing you agree to Dodopayments' terms and authorize recurring charges.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Account page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which your profiles are disabled.
We reserve the right to change the subscription price. We will notify you at least 14 days before a price change takes effect. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.
If you are dissatisfied with the Service, contact us at support@getcroton.com and we will work to resolve the issue. Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
We collect your email address, account settings, filtering configurations, and DNS query logs. Query logs include the domain requested, timestamp, profile used, and whether the query was allowed or blocked. We do not store IP addresses in permanent query logs.
Individual query logs are retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted. Aggregated statistical data (total query counts, top domains, blocked counts) may be retained for longer to power the statistics dashboard.
We use collected data solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not use DNS query data for advertising and do not sell any user data to third parties. The only third parties that receive data are Dodopayments (for payment processing) and upstream DNS resolvers (Google, Cloudflare) that resolve non-blocked queries.
You may delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deletion permanently removes your profiles, settings, and query history. Some data may be retained as required by law.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
We operate the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis and take uptime seriously. However, we do not offer a service-level agreement. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, infrastructure issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
DNS filtering accuracy depends on domain classification data. We do not guarantee that every unwanted domain will be blocked or that every legitimate domain will be accessible.
You may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time from the Account page.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or any other reason at our discretion. We will endeavour to notify you in advance except where immediate action is required.
All software, content, and branding that make up the Service are owned by Croton and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal or family use only.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CROTON SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Maharashtra, India.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance.
